Street Posters
This collaborative project delved into exploring environmental activism in the form of producing video content and posters. Both mediums serve to demonstrate the kind of responsibility that BP has shirked and the trauma suffered both by the community of people that live there and also the wildlife impact. Needless to say, the project utilizes humor in its video while the posters serve as a sobering serious reminder of the effects of the BP oil spill event. Our filmed together and made individual posters. My contribution to the posters number 18. The series aims to examine political, and social economic perspectives in combination with the environmental impact to wildlife. The posters look to emulate and use existing BP ad slogans and aesthetics to generate engagement. Some posters utilize quotes from BP executives during the aftermath and some others are layered with personal stories of the victims in the spill. The environmental posters focus on the impact on birds, turtles and dolphins.
The posters are to be posted on walls at the pedestrian level.
