Wayne Liang , January 2015

5.5″ x 8.5″

This project is a part of an exquisite corpse. The image is derived from a 2” x 2” square portion of a previous image. I first manipulated the geometric forms within the image to appear in blotty forms akin to camouflage. I then added additional colors that highlighted the original palette. The entire image is then repeated several times in different scales and orientation to compose a final pattern. The image resembles geological maps of volcanoes I have seen and also brings to mind of the rainbow spectrum of pollution in water. There is no meaning behind the image but it does represent many visual cues to guide the conversation. The end result of the piece appears to serve as a potential examination of the Anthropocene and environmental issues.
