Bonus Stage was a collaboration with Patrick and Helen that was a commentary on how people change (and stay the same) over time, as well as a celebration of video games over time. The zine and website we created together depicted the fictional existence of two brothers (Chris and Bo Mooneyham) as they move from creating a hand-made zine in their parents’ basement as teenagers and later run a successful website based on the same principles and article types that were featured in the original zine. For this project, I put the print zine together in terms of creating the visual style (the photocopy noise and poorly pasted zine aesthetic are what I am most proud of) and assembling the pages together so that it genuinely felt like a zine made in the early 90’s. I also wrote a large chunk of the content for both the web and print editions of Bonus Stage. Below are the pages I was responsible for, save the *lovely* Red Panda artwork, which was done by Helen.
