This second chair project is a continuation from the first. The differentiation between the second from the first is that it is more thorough in its investigation in the first three topics: MEDIA, HISTORY and TYPOLOGY. It is to be adapted into a book and posters to tease an upcoming product of a brand of which I am currently developing: Rare.
The media portion looks to examine chair in culture. The first spread is a look at chairs in some recurring or important moments in films, and television. The second spread contains eighteen different online articles from different media outlets regarding chairs. The third spread depicts various political figures, businessmen and celebrities that have key relationships with the chair that they sit in.
For history, I created a timeline detailing different periods and styles from the Egyptians to contemporary work. It is clear and effectively demonstrates the style articulated throughout history.
In typology I montaged 160 chairs together of varying uses and designers to formulate the diverse nature of how chairs are understood.
The back of the pamphlet are brand principles and manifesto of Rare.
